The Shanghai Chess Club formed in 2007 and now meets twice a week for casual games and the first Sunday of every month for a tournament. We count 22 nationalities among our membership of more than 200 Shanghai based expatriates. We play at 3 venues in the Former French Concession: on Tuesday evenings at Maya, a multi-award winning Mexican restaurant with a dedicated chess room. Thursday evenings at Time Passage, one of the oldest pubs in Shanghai with a pedigree of more than 20 years. Monthly tournaments are played on Sundays at Oscars, which has hosted the Shanghai Chess Club since 2007. The Shanghai Chess Club plays at Maya every Tuesday, and Time Passage every Thursday from 70pm. Monthly Rapid Tournaments are held on the first Sunday of each month and Oscar's Pub. The Shanghai Chess Club is the premier club for visiting Grand Masters and International Masters in China.
