Residing in a Beijing hutong, HÉ-SHI not only coexists within the local culture, but also bear witness to the changes of a city from a bottom-up perspective. This has given us the opportunity to critically observe the mixture of various traditional and contemporary disciplines. We believe that tradition should not be abandoned, but should be integrated with contemporary design to create new ideas. As a result, HÉ-SHI puts great emphasis on design through research and dialogue, all within the experimental nature of a studio-based setting. We believe that all designs have its own distinct context, and that the form and space is derived through curation of its contextual issues. 和事建筑是由刘羿和闻婷于2018年在北京成立的一家建筑设计研究工作室。和事建筑致力于从文化的在地性出发，由自下而上的角度观察城市的变迁。和事建筑认为传统不应被摒弃，而是应该与当代设计相融合，是新思想和设计的开始。和事坚持研究引导设计的理念，强调设计是基于开放性和实验性的语境下与研究的对话。我们相信，所有的设计都有其独特的背景，而形式和空间是通过对其背景的批判性解剖整理而产生。
